Signage
I find signage, found on or near construction sites, fascinating as they are created to warn or alarm people of danger. The designs and color choices generally mimic dangerous things found in nature. For example, yellow is generally paired with black to mimic the colors of the bee; highly chromatic orange (O.S.H.A. Blaze) mimics fire.
Subpart G refers to the O.S.H.A safety standards regarding high visibility and what colors should be used in construction signage. Considering "high vis" as a formal quality in painting, I decided to use highly chromatic pigments that are no longer in use today, but were commonplace in the Renaissance.
